Dave RoeCheck me out! After being out in the darkness of no web access for way too long, my son Jerry and my webmaster Timm finally convinced me to move toward the light and set up this little dot net in order to make more contacts and also to provide me a more direct way to play on tracks for my friends around the world. This, along with learning ProTools and setting up a studio in my new bachelor crib, has been sort of a long overdue rebirth.

My old buddies from my jazz and funk days in the '70's in my hometown of Honolulu are still, 28 years later, scratching their heads at my decision to move to Nashville and pursue my love of roots and country music, so this is quite a shock for us all. It's especially a mind blower to everybody that I grew up with, that I make most of my living playing upright bass, with a heavy footnote on the old slap style stuff.

I've been so lucky and blessed since I've been here. I've toured and recorded with Johnny Cash, Dwight Yoakam, Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins, Vince Gill, Kris Kristofferson, Jerry Lee Lewis, Billy Joe Shaver, and many more folks, all hero's of mine. I've played on four Grammy winners, toured the world several times, and been blessed with my son Jerry Roe, who is now one of the best of the new wave of musicians coming up in town. He's currently playing drums with Michelle Branch, and he is also a first class studio drummer. Man, is it ever so cool to saddle up with him in the studio! What a great thing!

Currently, I'm lucky enough to have a pretty busy studio schedule, and I'm still in the legendary Don Kelley Band, one of the house bands at Robert's Western World on Broadway. We play Wed-Sat, 6-10 and man if you are ever in town, come and see me there. I promise you'll have fun and hear some great old school honky tonk.

Finally, I'd like to take time here to thank the folks at Fender, Warwick, Lakland, Hofner, Peavey, SWR, Carvin, Supersensitive, and Black Diamond strings for taking care of me on the gear side.

Thanks for checking this out, and let me know if I can help you with your music!
